Tucked away in an unassuming, sealed-off loft in the heart of Prahran, was a portal to the past, brimming full of well-kept antiques and tapestries. I loved the unexpectedness of it, and made you wonder what other surprising places there could be just around the corner.
It was here in this small treasure trove of a space that I had some fun taking portraits of members from Hamer Quartet.
I wanted to shoot something that was dramatic, yet had an air of classicism in order to compliment their programming for their 2017 Season. Much of the programme dealt with the conflicting forces of light and darkness and so I played around with shots with natural lighting and others using a mixture of speedlights and a pair of Profoto D2s.
